Blends
Single Origin coffee simply means it is the coffee from that particular origin. As with wines, the country the coffee is grown in plays a significant role in the flavour, body and aroma profile. This is because of varying soil types, temperatures, altitude and processing methods that the country uses. A single-origin coffee will most likely have slightly differing flavour characteristics from one season to the next.
Using our diverse variety of single-origin beans, our master blender uses a little coffee alchemy to produce a delicious range of blends to suit differing palates and brewing methods.
Blending coffee is very similar to wine blending. A certain coffee’s characteristics are utilized to provide a flavour, body or acidity element to the blend. For example a Papua New Guinea coffee is used to create a bright, sweet acidity to a blend, whereas an unwashed Ethiopian Djimmah will produce deep chocolaty, earthy flavour notes.
